TURQUOISE PAIR
Cut and polished rare matching pair, ready to be crafted. With their natural cyan blue/green colouring and interesting matrix inclusions. You will receive the exact pair in the photographs, which have been sourced from different famous Turquoise mines in the South West. Having a matching pair of Turquoise or in any stone is very unusual. This pair weighs approximately 40g. Approximate measurements are 60x49x5mm.

SLEEPING BEAUTY TURQUOISE
Turquoise from the Sleeping Beauty mine in Arizona has a pure sky blue colour with very little veining or webbing. The mine closed in 2014, making the material in circulation even more precious.

KINGMAN TURQUOISE
Family run today, the Kingman mine is one of three prehistoric turquoise mining sites in Arizona. The mine produces every colour of turquoise from blue to green, and varying volumes of matrix.

CAMPITOS TURQUOISE
This turquoise is sourced from Campitos Mountain outside of Cananea, Sonora, Mexico. The Campitos mine has been in production since the 1980s. Campitos turquoise can range in shades of light or medium blue to a vibrant blue-green. The colour of some Campitos turquoise is often compared to the shade of Sleeping Beauty's soft yet intense blue.

NACOZARI TURQUOISE
Nacozari mine in Sonara, Mexico is located south of Arizona's Bisbee mine, and is part of the same mountain range. Nacozari turquoise is typically bright blue with very little inclusions. The mine has now been officially closed so ‘Naco' turquoise is becoming harder and harder to obtain, making it highly desirable and collectable.

MORENCI TURQUOISE
Morenci mine is located in Southeastern Arizona. It produces a wide range of turquoise colours from blue to green, the most sought after is a deep blue colour with
a iron pyrite matrix and occasionally some spider-webbing throughout. No Turquoise is being actively produced at this mine, but small amounts previously mined are still in circulation.

TURQUOISE INFORMATION
All of our turquoise deals is stabilised unless otherwise stated in the listing. Stones that are naturally very soft or porous tend to be stabilised for jewellery. Modern methods of
stabilisation involve injecting epoxy resin into the stone in a high pressure oven, which seals all the cracks and pores. It also stops the gem from changing over time - people who wear non-stabilised Turquoise often complain about their stone darkening and going green over time (this is due to natural body oils reacting with the minerals, causing the colour to change.) Some stabilised stones are chemically dyed at the same time, however colour enhancements are never made by Two Skies - you can be assured the colours displayed in our stones are 100% natural. Though the stabilising process can slightly darken the stones, we do not add any dyes, which is in line with gem industry standards.
