During the production of our Orbis Terrarum Ancient World Map backgammons we use premium quality 12mm and 4mm MDF.

The design transferred to the backgammon board and it is applied with 3 layers of varnish in order to protect the surface and provide durability. 3 layers of glossy polyurethane varnish are applied again to finish the Orbis Terrarum Ancient World Map backgammon surface. The outer and inner sides of the Ancient World Map Wooden Backgammons are painted in suitable colors and with varnish to finish the surface.

Optional High quality boxwood backgammon checkers. Handmade Checkers are made of Boxwood (Buxus Sempervirens). Slow growth of Boxwood renders the wood very hard, heavy, and with fine grain produced by growth rings, making it ideal for chess pieces and checkers. Boxwood does not contain bacteria.

The design on the backgammon is high quality glossy print.

For the open-close mechanism of the board, we use high graded magnets.
