It was a cold day in October when inspiration hit me, for days I created nothing but butterfly
paintings. When I heard the news that the lovely, Italian, Great Grandmother of my daughter had passed at first I didn't connect the two events. Later I watched a video of her from years prior where she shared about someday when she passed she wanted to come back as a butterfly.
I then connected the inspiration to the days following her passing. I am filled with a feeling of
connection to this beautiful woman and hold the butterfly artwork dear to my heart.


I've painted each painting to look like an abstract painting that a butterfly has landed on. So there is a slight shadow to give the realistic appearance of the butterfly.
