Antique framed deals embroidery after the painting 'Angelus' by J.F. millet.
The item is a cross stitch embroidery in beautiful muted colours. On some pieces, the lower part and the upper part of the stitch are embroidered in two different colours.
The embroidery is in a brown frame with a white inner border.

Jean-François Millet (1814–1875) was a French painter.
The painting 'Angelus' from 1857 shows a farmer and a farmer's wife laying down their work at the end of the day to pray the angelus.

Ca 1900s? The year 1971 is mentioned on the back, but I think the embroidery is a lot older. Perhaps the frame is younger.

The embroidery is in good condition. The frame is in fair to good used condition: the outer edge shows some baldness here and there, but that doesn't look out of place with the embroidery.
