Evidently, marketing towards children began back in the 1920's -- these figurines where designed to inspire young 'uns to brush their teeth with a fun and whimsical bath accessory.

This sweet little lass measures 7 1/4" tall with a base of 1 3/4" wide, and is good condition with no cracks, repairs, crazing or other signs of distress. Bottom mark is "Made in Japan," and can stand upright on a counter or hang on wall from the hole in the back, side hole for toothbrushes and drain hole on the bottom. The base, with "Sister" written on the front, has a lip, designed to hold a small tube of toothpaste. Her sweet face has hand-painted features, with rosy red checks. All painted surfaces have a bit of wear, as consistent with age and use of item.

Great for collectors -- also makes a cute 'vase' for airplants.
