“Lead Me To Life”

A while ago I painted a piece with a lion and a baby, titled ‘Be Still.' I originally started it because of the new abortion bill that was passed at that time. My heart was hurting. And my soul ran to God while my hands went to paint. That piece turned into something so much more than just a prolife piece. The message was deeper and touched more people… deals and I had no idea what God had in mind when I was painting it.
And like ‘Be Still,' this painting started with my heart hurting. With the call to publicly announce that I stand with Ukraine. That I believe my God is at work. That I pray for His mercy. For His protection. Wisdom and guidance.

While all of this was in my head, I was interrupted with the reminder of a fact I heard back in 2003 about young sunflowers… did you know that they follow the sun? They constantly seek the light. From morning, to night.
And it reminded me of us Christians… how we are called to do the same.
To follow The Son.
To constantly seek The Light.
From morning… to night.

It gave this piece a different meaning for me while painting.
How often we forget to seek Him in the middle of the day when all is well, when we're too busy, before a conversation, in the middle of an argument…
Do we forget to end the night or start the day with Him?
Has coffee and stress become our new way to “wake up” instead of prayer and the Book that gives life?
Do we actually follow The Son? Allowing Him to grow us?
Or do we just allow the days to bend and move us and until we are stagnant in our faith?

Lead us to life, Jesus. Lead us to life.
