An interesting association, this classic biography on the French romantic novelist George Sand (Amantine Lucile Aurore Dupin) comes from the personal library of the late Madeleine L'Engle (A Wrinkle in Time). Signed inside with her married name deals as “Hugh and Madeleine Franklin” with her Connecticut home address (“Crosswicks”).
There is some light shelf wear/fading to the cover and some browning to the top. Light invisible cracking to the front hinge. Perhaps some faint dust from age.
