This highly collectible desktop-sized oil painting is from a collection of paintings by award-winning artist Eva van Rijn depicting pieces from her own collection of traditional Zuni carved fetishes. Painted in oil on a substantial wooden box canvas, this piece can stand on its own in a cabinet or desktop as easily as it can be hung in an art collection. The wood box canvas measures 6" x 8" x 2", the ideal gift for any art collector, deals the perfect addition to your Southwestern decor.
The fetish depicted is a carved onyx owl with inlay eyes. In Zuni lore, the owl is the keeper of the night and the protector of the home. Its properties are wisdom, the ability to discern truth and uncover deception, and to "see" what can not be seen.
The edges of the box canvas are also painted in Southwestern designs, so that it can be viewed from any angle if placed on a desk or display table.
