Take a stroll with me under a canopy of century old oak trees towards one of the most iconic Antebellum homes in Louisiana. The front of Oak Alley Plantation is quite possibly the most photographed exteriors but tucked away behind it lies my favorite area of the grounds. A sugar kettle turned water garden nestled inside of a curved brick path boasting a view that beckons the thought if these oaks could talk.
I paint in an impasto style using oil paint with palette/painting knives. Painting with palette knives allow a freedom I never enjoyed with brushes. I'm drawn to New Orleans cityscapes and Louisiana landscapes. I'm inspired by the vibrant vivid colors and heavy textures achieved with this three dimensional painting style. I enjoy capturing a view that I would enjoy spending a couple of hours in front of, taking in all the flavor of my surrounding.
This is a giclee created from my original impasto oil painting. All of my original paintings are painted in an impasto style (heavy texture) done in oil using palette knives. Giclee stretched over a .75" frame, using high quality archival inks and protected with a UV coating. Canvas wraps edge of frame and is back stapled. Image wraps around edge of canvas. Making this canvas ready to hang without a frame. Offered Framed and Unframed.
