Super stylish vintage Japanese drip glaze tea set including teapot, creamer, sugar bowl and four stackable cups! The beautiful glaze is a chocolatey chestnut brown with light cream/white drips deals and edging. The cups themselves have a unique D-shape and the classic ridging at the base seen on other stackable cups of the age. This set is really a special piece to have in the home and use every day with your family and friends - the ceramic does better the more it is used! - in both modern and retro homes.
This condition of this set is outstanding. There are no chips, cracks or scratches noted on any of the pieces. The lids on teapot and sugar jar are perfectly round and unmarked on the inner rim where there is usually some wear. There are some pits and weird drip marks characteristic of this style of ceramic but these things give it its charm. There is some age crazing on the base of some items which is very hard to see underneath the glaze. It is very very fine and the camera had trouble focusing and finding it but it is pictured as best we can in the last photo. All pieces are stamped JAPAN.
