Vintage Reverse Painted Tray, Ocean Scenery, cocktail bar tray made in deals Germany, 13.5" across, circa 1940s

deals DETAILS: This is an intriguing vintage glass reverse painted tray, circa the late 1940s made in Germany. This tray features an ocean scenery setting, with a figure in a cart in the foreground. Incredible textured foil creates the 'shimmer', in the bridge. The trim and handles are silver. Measuring 13.5" across (with handles) by 7.75", and 1.75" tall at the tip of the handles.

TRASHTIQUE TALK: Reverse painting on glass is an art form consisting of applying paint to a piece of glass and then viewing the image by turning the glass over and looking through the glass at the image. In German it is known as Hinterglasmalerei.

CONDITION: Trashtiques gives this tray a 8/10. No dents in metal, and glass is excellent - except on scratch (4th photo). Please look closely at photos.
