Product code: Vintage Japanese kimono fabric abstract deals waves brushstrokes navy blue denim blue
This listing is for a bolt of vintage NOS Japanese fabric. From some online research I have gathered that this type of fabric could be used deals in kimono making. However, with its understated design and geometric pattern, this particular fabric could easily be appropriated for other types of designations such as table linens (place mats, table runners or even napkins), totes/bags or even throw pillow covers. The fabric measures about 14" wide. I can not tell you with a great precision exactly how much fabric there is in this bolt. The material is secured shut with manufacturer's thread ties, but my guess is that there should be at least 9-10 yards. The width of the bolt unfolded is about 14" and there are 30 folds. The cotton or cotton blend material is relatively light weight, but the total weight of this bolt is 1 lb 1 oz. Based on the design and the tag, my estimate is that this material was manufactured in the 1970s or so.
