This is a beautiful piece, real art of hand embroidery, vest handmade in the 1960's or 1970's. It is deals kept in a very good condition, without damages of any kind. The vest is made of gold thread, known as 'srma' or Ottoman 'sirma'. These kind of vests were made by the Ottoman influence here through history, made with their techniques and by their patterns. It was part of a wedding costume, bride's costume. The embroidery was made by perfection, the whole vest is embroidered in delicate and complicated pattern. Beautiful and unique vest to wear or just to frame at and hang it on the wall, improving the home decor.
The chest size of the vest (across the chest) is 90 cm. This size is measured when the vest is closed. These vests were meant to be worn open (to have a better look at the shirt or the blouse underneath, to see the embroidery decoration at the shirt as well, so it would fit to a larger chest size by 2-4 cm.
