It will not open, just makes a sound when you press eject, I usually have to put it at an angle or tap it while it's on its side for it to open. It does not seam broken, just loose or a bit unhinged. I use USB ports so it was no big deal for me personally , but might be for you, buyer beware, Barely used, Ethernet only, no WiFi unless you get a WiFi adapter, or other wireless WiFi receptor.
