A lovely little antique edition of The History of Sandford and Merton: a Work Intended for the use of Children, by Thomas Day, Esq.
Published in 1840 by Henry Mozley and Sons, Derby. First edition thus. Sold by Cowie,, Jolland and Co., London
Half bound in a black leather to spine and corners, and brown marbled paper boards. Plain end papers with no inscriptions. Black and white frontispiece illustration plate. Pages are mainly bright with some foxing and ageing discolouration throughout. Some wear to internal joints and binding a little pulled at the spine, but otherwise text block and boards remain attached. Binding slanted and a bit sloppy.
Rubbing heavy on some areas of the paper and leather binding, with scratching present and chipping around corners and edges. Cracking to leather hinges with spine and chipping to leather. Please see pictures for more details or deals message if you have any questions!
