Product code: Custom Collar, 18"-20", beaded collar, Standard Slip training choker Collar for dogs, deals pets. Choose your color

This listing is for a made-to-order crocheted beadwork pet collar similar to the one pictured, but smaller, and with a choice of colors -- the picture is just an example of one of my standard slip or training collars for dogs.

Specifics of this listing: 18" to 20" crocheted beadwork training collar, with two bronze or silver-colored steel O-rings, one at each end of the collar. Color choices include black and copper, black and gunmetal gray, Raven's Wing Black (Black with iridescent colors), and turquoise and deals silver. For other color options, please ask me! The collar is worked using size 6 glass seed beads, strung on one long continuous strand of 100% nylon upholstery cord. Collar to include an internal heavy nylon cord stretch limiter.

This style of collar is slipped over the dogs head, so it must be large enough to do so. (If your dog has a large head in relation to its neck size, you might want to consider my made to order collars with a swivel hasp. For example, see https://www.etsy.com/listing/118732882/custom-order-16-18-crocheted-beadwork

This size collar will fit many breeds and sizes of dogs. Bear in mind when measuring for size that this collar, being about a 1/2" diameter round collar, will need to be slightly longer than a thin or flat collar. An extra inch or so should be sufficient, as long as the collar is big enough to fit over the dogs head. The largest part of most dogs' heads is measured from the curve of their throat up and around the ears. For more information on proper sizing, ask the seller.

These collars are very beautiful, and also coat-friendly and very strong. Do not burn, bleach, cut or stab them with sharp things and they tend to last a lifetime, and remain pretty through the years. They are easy care -- if they ever get dirty, rinse them with water, using soap if necessary or desired, and rinse well. Often, I simply washed them when I washed my dogs, and usually the dog needed the bath far more than the collar did.

My collars are built for practical use and strength. They function well as training collars, delivering a firm and quickly released correction with a tug, as needed.

I have torture-tested my crocheted beadwork collars and leads on my Scottish Deerhounds. They have withstood repeated lunging and pulling, very rough play, and near daily wear from the time my hounds reached adult size to the end of their lives, after which the collars became memorial tokens of the beloved hound who had worn it with such pleasure. Although I have sold many collars for many breeds of dogs (and other pets) I have not yet heard of a dog damaging them. Instead, I hear how much the dogs like their collars, perking up and prancing as they show off their "bling".

While these collars can be purchased for puppies, they will outgrow them rapidly, and you must take care to remove them before they get too tight on the dog's neck, and replace them with a larger size. If you must cut them off, the collar will be destroyed. Therefore, I generally recommend that you get a collar sized for your dog as an adult.

In any case, this custom order is for a beautiful, strong, enduring, and fully functional pet collar. Enjoy!
