Vintage Handcrafted Native American Sterling Silver Ring with Natural Baltic and Green Amber deals - Size 9

This artistic, handmade estate ring showcases the beauty of the natural amber, contrasting the lighter honey-colored Baltic Amber with the dark hue of the Green Amber. The colors can be seen when the ring reflects light at different angles. It is a modernist, geometric style with an abstract rectangular 1" X 3/8" face, a nice size to make a statement, bold but not brash.

This vintage piece was sourced at an auction of estate Navajo & Zuni jewelry. They could not confirm which tribe made this particular ring, but we believe it to be the Zuni, who traditionally tended to use clusters of stones rather than a single stone. The Zuni artist concentrates more on the stone, with the silver more as a matrix to contain the stone. Zuni jewelry usually contains many small pieces of stone (as this does) cut or shaped to form an intricate pattern when inlaid in the sterling silver. They were experts at cutting stones to fit into the silver, rather than the silver being shaped to fit around the stones, as some of the other tribes do.
