Here is a superb fossil fish pair from the world-famous fossil beds of Fossil Lake, Green River Formation, Wyoming. From the Eocene, 52 million years ago.

From the split-fish layer of Fossil Lake, this is two Knightia eocaena. Measuring about 3.5" and 3.7" in length, each specimen is complete with very nice ray fins, caudal fin and strong vertebrae. Each beautifully preserved with natural golden-brown pigment, which is commonly found in this layer of the lake.

The plate measures about 6.2" x 4.6" and weighs 1 lb. 4.30 oz.
