431 Rabbit Hare Buddha Bunny Tenmoku Salt Fired Animal Sculpture 12.5”(H) x 7.5”(W) x 6”(D).
431 Rabbit Hare Buddha Bunny Tenmoku Soda Fired Animal Sculpture is a wood-fired hand sculpted art object. The size of this hare/bunny fits into many spaces, and can be placed in the living room, entryway, bedroom, or any room of the house! The Buddha bunny is meant to bring hope, spirit, and happiness to the home. The body of the piece is thrown and altered, and the head, hands and feet are hand sculpted. The rabbit has a thick porcelain slip to give the body texture. Salt firing is a six (or so) hour-long firing process in which pottery pieces are stacked in an salt kiln, brought deals up to around 1800 degrees by throwing salt in the back of the kiln. The salt interacts with the tenmoku glaze and, at times, allows the glaze to drip down into beautiful rivers of color, with hints of gold flecks throughout. The piece has a lovely tenmoku (black) glaze that, when fired in salt, moves from luscious black to light and dark caramel colors. The piece is 12.5”(H) x 7.5”(W) x 6”(D). Would make a lovely gift for any special people in your life!
