The Process:
I fell in love with the simplicity and deals subtlety of ink on paper long ago. These recent pieces are inspired by nature, and things I come across on walks in the woods. I love this process, as it has a great mix of control and also a lack thereof. I use water, India ink, and soap to create intimate forms, reminiscent of small offerings, nests, or three dimensional tunnel-like forms. The display I choose for these pieces is one that I feel best balances the delicacy of the forms, but they are also available framed in a more traditional way, (island floated in matting under glass). These pieces look beautiful as a shelf item, or hanging on the wall, especially in groups of three.
This Piece:
This piece is called "Almost".
It is 9"x6", and signed on the verso.
The artwork is suspended by silk thread from the top of the box. Two copper tacks secure the thread in place on the top side of the box, ensuring the piece does not shift.
It can sit on a shelf or hang on the wall.
