Deals Vintage Glass Compotes (3), EAPG McKee Empire, Clear Bowls, Footed Base, Serving Dishes, Round Glassware, Dessert & Fruit, Kitchen Decor
The three glass EAPG McKee Empire open compote bowls are in good to very good condition. While there are no discernible identification marks on these clear glass dishes, according to references, these clear glass compote bowls were produced by McKee Glass early in the twentieth-century. They are sometimes referred to as McKee Empire open glass compotes. Also, while the two larger compote bowls have the most wear on the glass, overall these bowls are incredibly well made. In addition, while the larger and smaller compotes share matching designs, the middle size compote has a larger but shorter neck along with a slightly older appearance to the glass. Most likely the two matching compotes were part of a set that for some reason the middle size compote in the set got damaged. Hence, the middle size compote in this listing became the replacement.
Please note that screen resolution and/or original lighting could cause the colors to appear lighter or darker than actual. Also, the ChapStick in the photos is not included in this listing as it was used for scale purposes only.
There are no breaks, cracks, chips, or repair places on either of the three glass compote bowls. There are some vintage wear, age, and rub marks on the compotes - mainly in the form of rub marks along with signs of older age. As previously mentioned, the two larger glass compotes have more distress and wear on the glass than the smaller one (see photos).
The decorative possibilities for these gorgeous McKee Empire glass compote bowls are many. The china deals cabinet or display curio would be enhanced by these Early American Pressed Glass collectibles. Also, the open countertop or entryway table would welcome these beautiful dishes for their aged appearance and slightly different sizes. The compotes could be spread over a kitchen bar to hold fruit in one, snacks in another, and nuts in the last. If used in an entryway area, the three compotes could be spread out to hold keys, rings, watches, and/or decorations. In addition, the growing glass collection would increase in value and interest upon the arrival of these McKee Empire glass compotes.
The collector will appreciate these three McKee Empire EAPG glass compote bowls for their good to very good condition, matching appearance, apparent older age, and minimalist charm.
The three McKee Empire EAPG glass compote bowls weigh 70.3 oz.
The smallest glass compote bowl measures 4 1/8" tall x 7" wide across the round rim from outside to outside x 3.75" wide across the round footed base from outside to outside.
The middle size glass compote dish measures approximately 4" tall x 7 13/16" wide across the round rim from outside to outside x 4.25" wide across the round footed base from outside to outside.
The larger glass compote dish measures approximately 4 3/8" tall x 8.25" wide across the round rim from outside to outside x 4 3/8" wide across the round footed base from outside to outside.

***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.
***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.
***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.
***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.
***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.
***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.
***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.
***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.
***The year of production or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.
***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.
***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.
***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
