Deals Fairy Tales by Anderson, Odham’s Press Ltd. Circa 1930s - classic, aged edition.

My story...
I am an absolutely splendid, classic vintage edition of Fairy Tales by Hans Anderson. deals I was published by Odham's Press in London around 1930.
Odham's press also owned newspapers and we fine books were advertised in their newspapers then for a great price with the aim of building newspaper circulation.

Practicalities:
-I measure H 19cm by W 12cm
-I weigh 486g.

Condition Summary:
I am generally in a very good condition generally with only minor wear and excellent reading pages!

Why buy me:
I have beautiful, deep-red hardcovers textured with tiny, vertical waves. Contrasting with this my hinge edging and book corners are edged with a smoother cloth.
My spine titles still gleam gloriously in gold which is amazing considering that they have survived through: a 1930s depression, a World War, Rock and Roll and much much more! The embossed, decorative leaves and swirls on the spine provide another delicate and lovely layer.
Now are you ready for my big surprise? Go on turn quickly. Aren't my art nouveau, decorated endpapers glorious? ‘Good books are true friends' is quoted there each end.
Further on in is a portrait of my esteemed author set opposite another splendid, decorated title page with the classic Odham's Press ship emblem on it.
An introduction follows then contents pages of my numerous wonderful fairy tales which are to follow on pages in a highly respectable condition!
My seller has photoed the contents pages so you can see which stories are included. I hope your favourites are there!
All this in a binding that is still super strong with plenty more reading years ahead!

After some 90 years of existence I will have some signs of age and use:

Hardcovers: spine ends mildly rolled with gentle wear each end; the corners are still sharp with only minor wear on their tips. You will see that my spine cloth is more faded than my main covers which are still vibrant in colour with only one little rub on the front and two small dot like marks on the rear.
Page edges: the top dyed edge is mildly faded with a few gentle surface rub like scratches; the other edges are only gently edge toned with very minor, tiny marks.
Endpapers: some mild age toning marks around their edges; the front gutter is starting to wear along its length between the front endpapers and there is a closed tear at the top end. Be reassured the binding is absolutely secure - not loose at all!
Reading pages: generally in an excellent condition with only minor age toning, a section of bent top page corners at the beginning and a smudge where the red ink has seeped at the time of publishing on two opposing pages - very minor and forgivable. if you find any other signs of age of use they will be slight and rare.
Binding: still strong.
