Offered deals for sale is a vintage MCM pottery teapot designed by Felix Tissot, handcrafted in the 1950s in Taxco, Mexico. The pattern, called 'Fantasia', hand painted in pinks and brown on an ivory-colored glaze, features images from Mexican folklore or mythology ~ birds, flowers and animals. Felix Tissot was a French-born artist, potter and ceramist who moved to Taxco, Mexico in the 1950s. Tissot was well known for his contemporary modern take on traditional indigenous Mexican Indians' art. He passed away in 1989. This fine pitcher is signed 'Felix Tissot TAXCO'. Numbered '58B' above the signature and '3 3' below the signature. In remarkably excellent condition, but no lid. No chips, cracks or repairs. There is just one small spot where appx 1" of crazing is evident (last photo). The interior is clean, looks unused. 6.5” high, 3.5" diameter across top, just the opening, 8” diameter across the top including spout & handle. Will be packaged carefully and shipped quickly from a smoke-f.
