Vintage Steiff Boxer Dog Stuffed Toy 50's Mohair Green Leather Collar 1951 Standing Pose 6 1/2" Tall from FashionPuss.

This version of the Steiff boxer dog was produced from 1950 to 1957 only. It's mohair and stands about 6 1/2" tall x 8" long. The chin looks like velvet and the insides of the ears look to be wool felt. This dog has its original green leather adjustable collar and expressive glass eyes.

Because this was given to my older brother as a newborn baby gift in 1951, I know this is an early version of this particular Boxer. They are a bit harder to find due to the limited time of production.

I believe this is stiff sheared mohair with embroidered nose and paws - hard body is stuffed with wood "wool"/excelsior.

CONDITION is excellent except the metal ear tag and small original cardboard tags are missing (as a deals small child, I do remember seeing both still attached; but they've gone missing in the last 67 years). You can still see 4 fine pinholes inside the left ear where the metal tab was originally attached.
