This beautiful planter could be an amazing gift for anyone who loves nature and handmade pottery!

This planter is a part of the Moonstone Beach collection of pottery. Inspired by his beach, which is deals near the little town of Cambria, one of our favorite weekend getaways when we lived on the Central Coast. We enjoyed strolling along the water looking for shells and colorful stones to take home as treasured mementos.

This piece was made with high fire speckled buff clay, which you can see on the unglazed bottom. It was thrown on the wheel and then altered by hand to create the organic look on the rim.

There are several different glaze combinations that I use to create in my Moonstone Beach collection. This look is one of my newer ones, which has turned out to be very popular!

************************

The dimensions of the planter are:

- 6 1/2" tall
- 7 1/2" wide at mouth

*This is a very heavy piece, weighing 3 1/2 pounds!

***************************

Every piece of my pottery is:

- Signed by me, Sally Weimer, the ceramic artist

- Hand thrown on my potter's wheel

- Trimmed the following day

- Set out to dry for at least a week

- Fired in the kiln for 11 hours to turn into bisque

- Glazed by hand , usually with three coats of glaze, sometimes with as many as five different glazes layered!

- Fired again for 9-12 hours in my kiln

***************************

- The beauty of my handmade pottery is that no two pieces are exactly the same.

- There is no assembly line production going on in this pottery studio! I view each piece as an individual work of art!

- Please note that part of the uniqueness of artisan pottery are the little imperfections you may see.

- Tiny bumps, bubbles, runs, and other irregularities are just proof that your pottery was made by hand, not by a machine!

- Each piece is a unique, original piece of art, created with imagination, patience and love!
