Ceramic French vintage chicken statue / kitchen decor, with handle, has been a carafe / jug.

A delightful ceramic chicken, this started life as a carafe or jug of some kind. It is very decorative and packed full of vintage charm. He appears to be hand made or at least hand finished.

There are signs of age and wear, but I think some are made to give the chicken an aged look. There seems to be a knock near the tail, where a small piece has broken off but because of the jagged edges it is not very visible. The painted finish is uneven and apparently worn.

I tested the carafe with water and it did not work very well, filing from the tail end and pouring from the mouth. There is a slight wobble on a flat surface. Thus, I am selling this as a decorative item.

I purchased this at an auction here in South West France, there were others also keen to own him..

The chicken would look great in any kitchen, a real talking point and a rare find.
