Your frame comes with Premium Clear Framing Grade Acrylic. This is the highest grade picture framing acrylic. Its not the cheap, thin polystyrene others use. My acrylic is from the industry leaders Evonik/Cyro and TruVue. You can upgrade your acrylic to Non-Glare, UV Protective or UV/Non-Glare.
I offer the following Acrylic for your frames.
Premium Clear Framing Grade Acrylic (FF3 Premium Clear). Premium Clear Framing Grade Acrylic is included with each frame. I use FF3 sheet - the best framing grade acrylic on the market. Premium Clear Acrylic comes standard with each frame and you can upgrade to any of the follow.
Non Glare Acrylic (P99 Reflection Control). I offer P99, matte finish, non-glare surface acrylic sheet, which minimizes reflection for glare-free viewing. Its non-glare surface makes it very popular for picture framing. You can upgrade to this acrylic.
UV Protection Acrylic (OP3 Conservation Clear). I offer OP3 sheet, a UV protective acrylic sheet, which filters out 99% of damaging ultraviolet rays. OP3 sheet was developed specifically to meet the special needs of the picture frame industry. You can upgrade to this acrylic.
Non Glare and UV Protection Acrylic (OP3 P99 Conservation Reflection Control ). I offer OP3 P99, which combines both non-glare and UV filtering characteristics. It also offers 99% UV protection. You can upgrade to this acrylic.
Why Do I Use Acrylic for your frames?
Most frames sold on Etsy use glass, so why do I use acrylic? There are several reasons.
1. Its half the weight of glass.
2. If you drop your frame, the acrylic won't damage your art because it won't break.
3. The acrylic won't break during shipping. Shippers don't insure for glass breakage during shipping.
4. It enhances clarity. Although glass appears clear, it can actually have a green tint to it because of the iron content, which can reduce the light level and alter the look of the artwork. Acrylic sheets are more optically pure and thus provide a clearer view.
5. It allows more light through. Up to 92% of visible light is transmitted through acrylic. Mineral glass transmits 80-90%, depending on type of glass and manufacturer.
