The USS Robert G. Bradley (FFG 49) was decommissioned on March 28, 2014, after nearly 30 years of service, during a ceremony at Naval Station Mayport, Florida.

She was named for Lt. Robert G. Bradley who died in 1944 at the age of 23, while trying to rescue his men from a fire that erupted on board the USS Princeton (CVL-23) after a Japanese attack. He was posthumously awarded the Navy Cross.

His understanding of the interaction of ships with the natural forces of wind and water gives his pictures life and vitality. Adam uses pen and ink, as well as watercolor, and depicts the ship or boat on a chart with historical or current significance.
