Vintage Italian Nativity Christmas Figure Creche Hand Painted Chalkware 13 Pieces. Average deals figurine height 3 inches. Handcrafted chalkware Italian made. Rustic probably from the 40s. Manger with Jesus just shy of 2 inches long and 1.5 inch wide at widest point. Estate find. The family were German ancestrally. The wooden stable looks original to the set and made in Italy also. There is an exposed nail so please be careful. The nail comes up from the bottom and was used to secure the second level of the barn. Pictured. The original fern foliage inside is coming away and the stable will be placed in a plastic bag for shipping to preserve the foliage as much as possible. Someone added some more modern green fake “grass" at some point, which is removable. The lambs are not chalkware but in keeping with the set. The mat I'm uncertain of! It is certainly old and looks German/European and guessing late 40's / early 50's. It is the perfect size for the crèche ensemble.
