The Victory Garden by James Underwood Crockett Published in 1977 by Little, Brown and Company deals Boston 3rd Printing
A wonderful informative vintage book entitled, 'Crockett's Victory Garden', written by James Underwood Crockett was published in 1977 by Little, Brown and Company, in Boston, Massachusetts. As a long time viewer of WGBH, the public television station in Boston, one of my favorite shows was 'The Victory Garden', which was hosted by Mr. Crockett. This edition is the 'companion to the nationally acclaimed PBS television series'.
Whether you are a beginner or experienced gardener this book is filled with a wealth of information along with beautiful photographs. It is a joy to read and one feels as if Mr. Crockett is speaking just to you with his simple and easy instruction. This is a 12-month guide to gardening featuring a 'vegetable gardening guide for different climates, tools of the victorious gardener, sowing seeds indoors, planting perennial borders, a glossary deals, and index as well as question and answer section at the end of each month, and more.
This is copy is the third printing of the 1977 publishing date and is in good condition with the original dust jacket, and measures; 8" x 10 1/4".
I still have my original 1st edition copy of this great gardening book in my library, and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I have all these years!
