Royston deals Turquoise. Turquoise Cabochon. Blue Green Turquoise. 28 Carats. Old Stock. American Turquoise.
Rare 1970s Old Stock American Royston (Nevada) free form Cabochon. Its a beautiful stone- reflecting the wonderful blues and greens which is so typical of high grade Royston.
Stabilized and backed for extra strength. Medium dome cabochon which would be great for a bracelet or cuff. This stone has a small amount of natural pitting, but does not affect its strength.
This rough rock was purchased at auction; it was part of the left-over cuttings of the famous Morris Maisel Company in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Morris Maisel Company factory employed hundreds of Native Americans (at one time over 300), post-Depression, for decades. Virtually every piece of cut rough scrap was chopped off and "discarded" by a Ute, a Dine' (Navajo), a Pueblo, or an Apache artist from the golden age of Route 66 culture. A lot of the turquoise used was from mines that now are considered super rare turquoise finds!
