Art Nouveau SPM Walküre porcelain green tea set and tray Siegmund Paul Meyer, deals Bavaria Germany
Antique SPM Walküre porcelain tea pot, creamer, sugar bowl and tray hand painted. The internationally known Walküre fine porcelain factory was founded in 1899 by Siegmund Paul Meyer in Bavaria, Germany. The markings indicate that this was manufactured between 1899 and 1929. The teapot, creamer and sugar bowl are painted green with gold accents. The tea pot has a typical art nouveau organic shape handle that looks like a branch. The tray is white with gold accents but had a matching green border on the outside of the tray. It is extremely rare to find the entire set with the tray.
In good used condition without chips or cracks, minimal wear on gold guilding, a few age stains on the gold guilding of the teapot and the sugar bowl (see pictures). Also please note that since the gold gilding was hand painted, there are some very tiny splatter marks of gold specks which is typical for this type of work.
Measures: Teapot is 12 cm (5") tall, 21 cm (8.1/4") wide (including handle and lid) and holds about 4 cups. The tray is 30 cm (12") x 20 cm (8"). The creamer is 8 cm (3") tall and the sugar bowl with lid 12 cm (4.3/4") tall.
