Antique French LARGE 28" deals Yellow Glazed ochre Confit Pot terra cotta Pottery, with handle, kitchen deco,artist still life, photo styling.

A VERY large, traditional confit pot from south-west France, made in the the late 19th century and sourced near Toulouse, Midi-Pyrénées, France.

It has a classic Yellow / mustard half-glaze and clay terra cotta base. The inside also has largely all of its yellow/mustard glaze intact (see photos)

Wonderful warm color variations and patina.

Pots like these were used for preserving meat, sausages deals and and duck in fat, and were used all over the south and south west of France.

Despite decades of use, this pot is in stunning antique condition - except that it is missing one handle, but can still be beautifully displayed, used as a vase, for utensils or also wonderfully by an artist for Still Life painting !

The glaze is partial, creating a beautiful time-worn patina, no surface hairlines or internal cracks, breaks or restoration repairs.

The terra cotta base has some charming irregularity, giving it much authentic antique character. Please inspect photos closely.
