This is an authentic handmade handwashing cup, a ceramic "Natla", which I formed from a slab of
speckled terracotta stoneware.
The "Natla" is used for washing hands before eating* *, it's a tradition among the religious Jewish.
The Natla is signed by me underneath.
* * Why a two-handled washing cup?
After the first hand is washed, it is clean deals and pure. The unwashed hand, however, is not. If the two hands touch after the first hand was washed, it is necessary to rewash the first one. A two-handled cup is used to make the process simpler, making it easier to avoid the hands touching each other.
