Victorian deals gold filled watch chain 11 1/2 inches long w ith a T bar toggle , Aurora swivel clasp & folding Voos arrow knife
A yellow gold filled Voos pen knife fob and large toggle hang from this Vintage gold filled watch chain. At one time this piece was probably paired with a pocket watch as part of a gentleman's attire. The 11 1/2 inch gold filled chain is of yellow gold color and was constructed with 3.6mm curb links.
One end of the chain has a watch clasp signed "Aurora". Near the other end of the chain is a jump ring in which the large 1 7/16-inch wide toggle dangles from. The toggle has lots of gold loss with some areas appearing more silvery gray.
The small pocket knife is octagonal-shaped and has a linear and pattern engraved designs on both sides. One side has a blank oval meant for a monogram. The inner steel blade measures 1 3/8-inches long and is signed, "Voos" with arrow. The somewhat rusty file measures 1 1/4 inches long. The knife itself measures 2 1/8 inches long x 1/2 inch at widest. The hinged bail has loss of gold, the knife body has some green patina and there is some rust inside where the file is stored.
An acid assay test was done on a few of the chain links to verify that it is indeed gold filled. The hardware, toggle and pocket knife outer also tested as gold filled. Each vintage piece has been examined by a graduate gemologist. Stone carat weights stated represent approximate weights which can vary by the limitations of measuring set gems. Due to the age, antique & vintage jewelry and sterling objects are often not perfect, and may have normal signs of surface wear, or small imperfections due to hand crafting or production in a long gone era rather than mass-manufactured nature. This is what makes each piece special and unique!
