Here we have a vintage, Italian, religious triptych. This triptych honors the Virgin as the Madonna of Humility. The trifold panels feature images on each panel.
The center panel shows The Madonna seated on the ground holding baby Jesus on her lap. Above her is Pope Gregory the Great.
The lefthand panel shows Saint John the Baptist holding a staff with the martyrdom cross on top. Above him is the Angel Annunciate.
Saint Augustine appears on the righthand panel. He is holding a gold scepter in one hand and a Bible in the other. Above him is deals the Annunciate Virgin
This small size, which conveniently folds via hinges, enables you to be able to use this at home or take it with you when you travel.
This triptych is made of wood and has applied pressure frieze on both sides. The pictures are full color lithographs affixed to the surface. It has an applied, paper label on the back with the typewritten, "Lorenzo Monaco, Madonna and Child". It is also marked, "G.B. Florence, Made in Italy".
Measurements: 6 3/8" tall, 2 3/4" wide when closed, 5 3/4" wide when fully opened, 5/16 thick
