Batik Cotton Sarong Fabric Handmade Indonesian Batik Kain Tulis from Solo City Indonesia Batik deals Hand Drawn
Traditional, genuine Batik from Indonesia, fully hand made. Tuli is the Indonesian word used to describe a batik that is totally handmade by "kanting" (pouring) the wax onto the material. It is not made by stamp or by mechanically printing onto the material. This is the traditional and most labour intensive way of making a batik.
This batik is a classic example of the gorgeous work done in Solo City (Surakarta), one of the oldest and best known batik centre in Central Java. This one has a beige background with a traditional stylised floral pattern in brown and very dark blue (almost black) with the unusual addition of gold resin/paint outlining the floral design. It is in very good condition on good strong cotton.
A Kain is a piece of material about 2 or a bit more metres in length. This one is 106cm high by 248cm long.
A superb example of Indonesian batik. deals
