This listing is for a large set of plates and bowls in the "Liberty Blue" pattern by Staffordshire. "Liberty Blue" is transferware of historic colonial scenes made deals from an original copper engraving painted on ironstone from Staffordshire, England. "Liberty Blue" was first produced in 1975, just before the US Bicentennial, and it remains popular and collectible today.
This set includes the following:
- 11 Bread and Butter Plates (5-7/8") depicting Monticello
- 4 Dinner Plates (9-7/8") depicting Independence Hall
- 8 Fruit/Dessert (Sauce) Bowls (5") depicting Betsy Ross (1 has a chip on underside, see photo)
- 2 Coupe Cereal Bowls (6-3/8") depicting Mount Vernon
Slight variations exist in the intensity of the blue, for some of the plates/bowls, probably due to wear. No cracks or chips, except for the one fruit bowl (in photo).
