Product code: Trade bead bracelet with antique Fulani ring and deals Hebron beads

This gorgeous teal/gold bracelet features a very lovely old Fulani ring.
The Fulani were a nomadic tribe, before they settled in cities as well. But part of them are still nomads, Legend has it they were born from the river - maybe because of their traveling life style.
A Fulani girl traditionally marries young- beginning of her teens. When she is expecting, three months before giving birth, she moves back to her parents house. And she stays. Till weaning has ended: for a girl 24 months, for a boy 21. All this time her husband does not visit her.
Then, when she moves back to him, he gives her money, to buy fancy clothes and jewelry.
Like, for example a ring like this one.
At least, this is how it went in former days.

The ring is very beautiful, with its spiraling design. Rings like these are hard to find, and then, they mostly have a more crude design. The delicacy of this one is truly special.
I paired it with more African brass. It sits next to a bold bead from the 1800's. The bumpy beads near the clasp are rare Yemeni beads from the beginning of the last century. The bicones are from Cameroon and Ethiopia.

The teal beads are from Hebron, Palestine. They were made before 1860, with salts of the Dead Sea. Absolutely gorgeous wound beads with great patina and hues to die for.
Lastly, you will find an old Venetian made trade bead: the white bead with the dots. It is a fragile type of bead, and this one survived the years remarkably well, with the red deals and blue dots on the white dots mostly preserved. It is more than a hundred years old.

Many gems in a royal bracelet.

SIZE: it measures approx. 6.1 to 6.7 inches (15.5 to 17 cm). See pictures for dimensions. If you need more length, I can add extra rings at a small extra cost. It closes with a clasp that was hand made by the Asante and bought at a fair price.

It comes in a nice eco friendly jewelry box, ready for gift giving.

It ships with track and trace.

I ship within one business day. To the USA, Canada, Australia and Asia it usually takes one to two weeks for my packages to arrive. Within Europe, delivery takes a few days up to a week. Handling at the customs may cause a delay.
I do combine shipping.
