This is an exceptional Franciscan Apple open soup tureen. The tureen has 3 feet for the base that look like branches. There are 2 handles that look like branches also. There is no lid for this tureen. This has the Franciscan back stamp which was used 1949-1953. The tureen measures 12" handle to handle. It is 10" across the outside of the bowl and the top opening is 7 1/2". The piece is 5" tall. The tureen is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. This does not appear to have been used much, if at all. The Franciscan apple is hand painted with rich red apples, green leaves and brown branches. This is a beautiful, heavy piece weighing 3 pounds 14 ounces. What a statement this would make to go along with the Apple deals dinnerware.
