MICHAEL ENGLISH (1941-2009) As a British advant garde artist of the 1960s, it was deals then that he became captivated by Pop Art, applying hisimagery to retail object such as T-shirts, carrier bags and sunglasses. During this time the artist became involved in the Hippy Movement becoming one of the most prolific producers of "PSYCHEDELIC POSTERS." As this era came to a close, and with his discovery of the airbrush, he abandoned psychedelic imagery and rose to popularity in the early 1970s with a very personal form of Hyper-Realism, which concentrated on the dialectic between man-made products and the natural world. The success of these influential ground breaking works led to world-wide commercial recognition, and he was commissioned by many major corporations to produce the artwork in their advertising campaigns. Today a new found popularity of his works from the 60s and 70s have become hugely popular with a new generation.
