The lovely folding chess board has been inlaid with mahogany and sycamore wood.
It has an insert tray for the chess pieces storage inside.
The dark squares are carefully stained to allow the natural
beauty of the wood grain to shine through,
the numbers and letters are stencilled in white.
The board is then lacquered to provide the perfect finish.
The classic Staunton chessmen are all weighted and made
from beech wood which is carved and finished by hand.
The dark playing pieces are stained,
the lighter deals pieces are natural wood the same colour
as the lighter squares on the board.
The pieces also have a lacquered finish.
