A vintage set of six large Thomas Work & Son Ltd Sheffield Stainless Steel hand crafted 9 inch Table Dinner knives with beautiful cream ivorine handles. The matching set of English silverware Knives are all the same size and design.

Sheffield Cutlery Craftsmanship at its finest. The knives are handmade stainless steel cutlery with a mirror finish.

Ivorine is a vintage material often used to make the cutlery handles. Ivorine was widely known as Celluloid and was given a number of trade names by those factories that produced it, the best known of which is Xylonite or Xylo for short.

I also have the Thomas Work smaller boxed Dessert Knife set and will refund excess postage if purchased together.

The green and gold paper covered box is a work of art in itself with marvellous vintage brand design gold label saying “A Vintage Cutlery Product, 100% Sheffield Eng”. At one end of the lid, it says "Tab 104"

The vintage knives are engraved with “Thomas Work & Son Ltd, Stainless, Sheffield Eng”.

Each Table knife is approx 23 cm (9 in) long.

The set of Thomas Work Sheffield Large Table knives in the box weighs 370 g (13 oz).

The vintage ivorine knife set is in excellent vintage condition with no dents. There is the odd tarnish mark on the blade as expected with knives of this great age. The knives are all are solid, stable and perfectly usable. The set appears not to have been used much with very few visible scratches on the blades. There may be wear consistent with normal use as this is a deals pre loved set of knives. The box is in good condition with signs of use, wear and tear. Please view photos for condition.

These vintage knives are probably 1940s and are still bright and shiny.
