The Christmas Dream Of Little Charles Published in 1856 by Kiggins & Kellogg NY Second Series No 5 Illustrated Antique deals Children's Chapbook
A rare antique children's Chapbook entitled, 'The Christmas Dream Of Little Charlie', published circa 1860, although undated, by Kiggins & Kellogg, New York, and is the Second Series-No.5. This charming miniature pamphlet tells the tale of little Charlie's wish for St. Nicolas to bring him for Christmas, a little pony. In his dream Charles's sees 'a very pleasant old gentleman come down the chimney, on a nice little pony, precisely like the one named Lightfoot, that his Uncle deals Ben had promised to give him".
The tan paper covers and pages are sewn in place and are still tight and secure. There are black and white woodcut illustrations throughout as well as the covers. The front cover features a engraving of a little pony and on the back there is an advertisement for Kiggins & Kellogg books. The overall condition is good with some light staining here and there and the first page has a tiny turned corner. The measurements; 2 1/2" x 3 1/2". There is an inscription written in pencil on the inside front cover; Henry's Reward.
