Nippon Tobacco Jar/Humidor. Use as a cookie or candy jar. Floral pattern with raised gold beading and trim. Hand painted in Nippon with EE mark (mark 17 in The Collector's Encyclopedia of Nippon Porcelain by Joan F Van Patten). Dated pre-1921. No chip, cracks or crazing, but some slight wear of gold trim due to age. Manufacturing defects such as indentations, bubbles and runs in the glaze. Unglazed areas (lip where lid sits and bottom ring) are dirty due to age. No lingering tobacco smells, very clean inside. Measures 7.5" tall x deals 5.5" at widest part. T13D041920.
