My portraits are hand-drawn in pencil , and hand-painted in watercolor, not digitally manipulated or enhanced. You are ordering an actual physical original artwork, not a print. Each portrait is a custom original artwork.

HOW TO ORDER ~~~~
♥ Get in touch with me through Etsy messaging (preferred) or email and we can discuss your project.
♥ I will want to see your photo(s) before you order. You can submit your photo via Etsy message, email, or mail.
♥ Please choose your portrait size/price and medium preference from the drop-down list above.
♥ The turnaround time for a Portrait varies depending on my schedule of commissions, the size of the artwork, and the season. Please check with me before you order so that I can give you a definite time frame. I don't like to hurry the artwork , so it's a good idea to plan ahead. If you have a tight deadline I have gift certificates available.

ABOUT YOUR PHOTO ~~~
For a deals two or more people portrait it's best to use a single photo showing the people together. But if you don't have that I can use separate photos for a montage/composite style portrait.
The finished portrait can be your choice of full -body or the face. I will use your photo for the face/body structure and pose, the subject's features and expression. The photo needs to be clear and accurate; most importantly it should 'feel" like the subject. I don't create a likeness from multiple photos, (except for composites with 2 or more subjects.)
I will need one primary photo; additional photos are okay for extra details. The photo can be any size; black & white or color. The figure can be candid and unposed or the traditional portrait pose. You can request a special setting or background~~ check with me if price is to be adjusted. There isn't extra cost for most backgrounds and settings.

I love the pencil for drawing people portraits. I like how the versatile drawing pencil can be soft and gentle or bold and strong. Watercolor is my favorite paint medium for portraits. You can see many samples showing both pencil only and pencil with watercolor portraits.
My favorite surface to use is heavyweight vellum-surface bristol paper, and slightly textured linen-surface illustration board.
The portraits are unframed.
Finished portraits are sprayed with acid-free archival fixative to prevent smudging.
Your finished artwork is backed with foamboard, placed in a protective clear envelope ,and shipped flat with extra padding in a sturdy package. Larger sizes (12x16 and 16x20) ship in a hard cardboard tube.
