Vintage 1990's Bento Box or Lunch Box Set by Japanese designer Kunio Sato from 1998. The Kunio Collection. Comes with original packaging. The bentos have had light use but are deals in excellent condition. The dials on the boxes appear to be purely decorative. They have cute animals from art by Kunio Sato with oddly poetic phrases in English like "Don't leave me alone! Let's go slowly and steadily! I like this word. One does things not too far beyond his ability, but never quits. He just keeps on going with a burning heart and a lot of dreams..."
I think something was lost in translation there! It's part of the endearing quality of Japanese goods with English writing!
