Product code: Antique 1917 to 1919 era US Military Gillet Khaki deals Service Kit for Safety Razor.

Own a antique piece of U.S. Military memorabilia with this item. This a United States Military Khaki Service Kit. It was made and issued for men in the Army or Navy.. This consists of the green canvas case, a silver toned metal safety razor and a silver toned metal case to hold razor blades.
It was made in the time of deals WWI.
There is stamped writing on the inside of the case. The writing is Gillet Khaki Set. Now there was more writing, but that has faded away. It likely was United States Army. I've seen similar WWI era Khaki Service Sets and those had the words United States Army in front of the Khaki Service Set.

Now there is a handwritten note on the inside from the seller that lists this as being used by a James Robert Howell (1896 top 1979) who served in the U.S.N. during WWI from 1917 until 1919 and was issued this. These kits were usually issued to Army personnel, but some did get issued to the Navy. Navy personnel usually had the "Blue Service Kit".
The initials J. R.H. do appear on the outside of the case.
I can't confirm the ownership of this as I didn't buy this from the vet's family. I can confirm that the case, stamped writing, razor and razor blade case is correct for the WWI era U.S. Army Khaki Service Kit.
The case measures 4" X 3".
In terms of condition this is 103 to 105 years old, so don't expect it to look new! It shows signs of aging, wear from handling and signs of being used at one time.
I would describe this as being used, vintage and a true relic. The case is missing one silver toned metal snap. Some of the stamped writing has faded away over time. The razor probably isn't safe to use due to a dull blade and not knowing when it was last used, cleaned and replaced. This is being sold as a display collectible, not a useable razor!
