This is a vintage 1990s, 11 piece set of handcrafted, faux gingerbread, earthenware clay, Christmas cookies. These are not your “average bear” Xmas cookies, these are “SPECTACULAR” Xmas cookies. This set includes a Santa, Xmas tree, 2 reindeer and animals consisting of an elephant, giraffe, 2 alligators, hippo, lion and a tiger. They measure a chunky 1/4 inch thick by approximately 1 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches in size, but it does vary. They appear made of an earthenware clay to resemble gingerbread which has been kiln baked. These holiday, display cookies not only have great shapes but also are 3 dimensional with hand, pressed designs. The amazing frosting decoration is done with a pastel, patchwork, print pattern which is then accented and outlined with raised, white, frosting. These are in excellent condition, but there is 1 missing frosting piece on the bottom, right side of the Xmas tree which does not take deals away from the charm of this item. These festive, faux, gingerbread cookies are the best I have ever come across. Arrange these on a plate for the holidays and you will have people reaching for them thinking they are real. Perhaps you might be able to make Christmas ornaments out of them without too much trouble or make a Christmas, cookie wreath.
