Vintage Mexico Sterling deals Crushed Stone Inlay Panel Link Bracelet_ Chrysocolla & Turquoise Chips_ Modernist Pre Eagle Taxco_ Large Wrists
Absolutely stunning vintage* early 20th century (pre eagle assay mark) Mexican bracelet in sterling silver and crushed stones consisting of 5 curved links. I believe the crushed stone pieces to be a mix of turquoise and chrysocolla. The design of this bracelet is unusual but consistent with the modernist Mayan revivalist aesthetic found in many silver jewelry pieces from the Taxco Silver Movement Era. The hallmark on this bracelet indicates that this bracelet was made some time before 1948, the year when Mexico began to require the eagle assay hallmark on sterling silver items produced in the country, a system which remained in place until approximately 1970 when it was replaced with alphabet/numerical hallmarks still in use today.
Excellent vintage condition with no issues that I can see.
At approximately an 8 inch (20.3 cm) internal circumference when closed, this bracelet is great for larger wrists. It is also large enough that it could be adjusted for a very small wrist by removing one of the links. I suggest deals measuring the wrist of the person who will be wearing this bracelet.
~ Internal Circumference when closed: Approximately 8" (20.3 cm)
~ Width at widest point: 3/4" (1.9 cm)
~ Length of Individual Links: 1-7/16" (3.7 cm)
~ Marks: STERLING MEXICO
~ Weight: 24.52 grams
